The Association, in collaboration with National Chiayi University, held a KidWind Challege in Asia Promotion Event and Thematic Workshop at Dongshi Junior High School in Chiayi County. A total of 26 junior high school students participated in this event, experiencing the charm of green energy education through a curriculum that combined theory and hands-on practice.
The morning session was led by Professor Chien-Heng Chou, Chairman of the Association, and Professor Jiong-Wu Su from Chiayi University. The content covered the basic principles of wind power generation and key aspects of blade design, incorporating multimedia demonstrations and interactive Q&A to inspire students’ thinking about renewable energy. The afternoon session focused on hands-on activities, where students worked in groups to assemble miniature wind turbine models and tested their power generation efficiency in a large wind tunnel. Throughout the process, the students continuously refined their designs, showcasing the spirit of scientific inquiry and teamwork.
We firmly believe that the KidWind Challenge is not just a contest but a learning journey that sparks creativity and integrates theory with practice. Through such educational initiatives, students can apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering design, further developing their hands-on skills and problem-solving mindset. We also look forward to continuing to promote green energy education in more schools, inspiring more teachers and students to engage in sustainable development.
Finally, we extend our special thanks to Principal Tzu-Chin Lin of Dongshi Junior High School for his strong support, which made this event a great success.
