Venue certified by the Asia-Pacific Energy & Science Education Association (AESEA) and the KidWind are applicable to kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, universities, and other education-related venues. The certification covers the Asia-Pacific region, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and China. Certified Venue institutions will enjoy the following benefits and must comply with relevant regulations:
Benefits of Certified Venues:
In accordance with AESEA and KidWind certification standards, certified venue institutions are entitled to the following benefits:
Right to Host Competitions Within the Venue: Certified Venue institutions may apply to independently host KidWind Challenge within the venue (school). If the competition extends beyond the venue (school), it must be reviewed and approved by the AESEA Competition Committee.
Eligibility for Official Competitions: KidWind Challenge approved for hosting will be included in AESEA’s official competition list for the year and, depending on the level of the event, will qualify for participation in Asia or World competitions.
Training and Certification Courses: Certified venue institutions may apply to host KidWind teacher and student certification training courses and certification exams.
Certification Eligibility Requirements:
To obtain KidWind venue certification, applicant venues must meet the following conditions:
Equipment Requirements:
The venue must have one KidWind standard wind tunnel approved by AESEA.
The venue must be equipped with two or more Vernier energy sensors approved by AESEA.
The venue must be equipped with two or more Vernier variable resistors approved by AESEA.
Personnel Requirements:
The venue must have at least one teacher with KidWind educator certification to serve as the coordinator for the certified venue.
Obligations of Certified Venues:
Certified venues must continuously maintain the equipment and personnel conditions specified in the second requirement and are subject to periodic inspections by AESEA.
When hosting KidWind-related activities, certified venues must comply with AESEA and KidWind regulations and guidelines.
Certified venues should actively promote energy science education and cooperate with AESEA’s promotional activities and programs.
This certification aims to promote the development of energy science education in the Asia-Pacific region. Certified venues will become important partners in the KidWind program, jointly advancing the goals of sustainable education and innovative competitions.
