In response to global climate change and energy shortages, the world is promoting new energy policies and emphasizing nationwide energy education. The Asia-Pacific Energy & Science Education Association (AESEA) has invited energy and science education experts from both domestic and international fields in 2024. AESEA is the sole partner in the Asia-Pacific region for the KidWind challenge, which is supported by the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory. AESEA will assist in training and certifying teachers and teaching environments that meet KidWind standards. AESEA is dedicated to developing energy education professionals and advancing energy and science education in Asia.
AESEA regularly organizes several energy and science competitions each year, such as the KidWind Challenge in Asia, Digital Science Competition, and iBridge cup Bridge Design and Load Testing Competition, all of which align with the spirit of STEM education. These competitions aim to encourage students to actively apply learned knowledge to real-world situations and deepen their understanding and engagement with energy and science through collaborative analysis, evaluation, and design improvement. Participating students not only develop practical skills but also enhance their teamwork abilities and creative thinking, which are crucial for their future development in the energy and science fields. Through these competitions, AESEA is dedicated to promoting and advancing energy and science education.
With a focus on STEM and energy education, AESEA has introduced the KidWind education content from the United States and launched a comprehensive international energy education certification teacher training program. The association regularly conducts training sessions to provide aspiring energy educators with effective professional development opportunities, helping them attain KidWind certified teacher qualifications. These training sessions aim to enhance teachers' professional capabilities, promote the development of energy education, and ensure that students receive accurate and high-quality energy knowledge.
